Sustainable Packaging

Packaging provides important functions such as protecting food from damage and extending shelf life. However, packaging waste that ends up in the environment is a very significant problem. Joining the Plastic Free Project movement, we are committed to ensuring that all of our packaging is reusable, recyclable or compostable plastic by 2025.

Currently we already have sustainable packaging that we are using and implementing alongside our clients, with the aim of reducing the use of plastics to zero. We use 100% compostable biodegradable nets with compostable ties, compostable flowpack, recyclable cardboard and recyclable paper. With this we all able to satisfy all packaging required by our customers, in a sustainable way.

Another option is 100 % reclable paper: each and every one of the materials that make it up can be reused. Specifically, the paper found in cardboard can be recycled up to 7 times depending on the length of its fibres.

A very common packaging for fruits and vegetables is our compostable flowpack recycled cardboard trays made from cellulosic and biomass materials, compostable according to the EN 13432 standard, with mechanical properties similar to the plastic polymers used in standard products. A thin transparent film that surrounds the product uses semi-barrier properties to conserve it for a longer time, both in terms of hydration of the packaged product in addition to its quality, conservation and safety of the fruit.

We recently brought you the new packaging system, completely recyclable and able to be deposited in the blue recycling container as well as being biodegradable on land and sea if it, for any reason, is lost from the recycling circuit.

It is made 95% of paper from 100% recyclable sheets from renewable FSC sources.
The breathable mesh is made of paper and bamboo fibres, improving the quality of the final recycling.
The glue used is of certified BIO origin.
The presence of windows makes the product breathe, promoting air circulation through the packaged product, keeping it dry and protected.
Production is carried out on high-speed automatic lines.
With this we all able to satisfy all packaging required by our customers, in a sustainable way.
